I hope I don't come across as being too harsh on my mom here. And if I do, well, that's what I said and what she said, so you're free to judge my actions as they stand. You should understand though, I've engaged in a lot of social experiments with my parents. Well, more accurately, at my parents.
Either way, through this extensive testing I've gathered that most conversational tones, facial expressions, or words don't have much effect on adjusting my mom's originally assumed assessment of any situation. Which is a long way of saying; it doesn't matter what I say, so I don't worry about it too much.
Which could still be seen as cruel, like making silly faces at a blind person. But understand it could also be frustrating when you really do mean those faces.
